Role you will play
Responsible for executing outside sales tactics defined by management. Contact sales prospects with the goal of acquiring their business. Pursue existing account growth through provision of value added services. Keep Sales Management aware of all pertinent customer interactions.
Promoting and contributing to a positive, cooperative work environment.
In-person sales visits to prospects and existing customers, with the goal of increasing overall business and market share.
Negotiate special pricing, delivery, or stocking options with customers.
Suggest additional products and services including stock to demand, special packaging, made-to-order and direct shipments.
Close communication with sales support team by updating the quotes to customers and the daily sales notes.
Quotes and negotiates custom products and special quantities of stock merchandise.
Maintain close communication with Purchasing in understand suppliers capabilities and limitations.
Monitor account growth and inform management of any and all changes to account.
Develop a broad knowledge and technical understanding of products and services available.
Daily activity report of sales accomplishments and follow-up work required.
Ability to utilize Microsoft office applications on PC, calculator, FAX, printer and phone.
Math skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages, basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
Write reports, business correspondence and procedural manual.
Ability to work with customers to present information and products in a professional manner.
Must be people oriented, demonstrate patience and objectively.
Excellent accuracy and memorization skills.
Understand and follow company policies and procedures.
Ability to work as a team.
Company will provide the following:
Competitive base pay, no commission, cell phone, computer, printer/fax machine, mileage reimbursement via an expense report and a company credit card for business related expenses.
High School diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred or at least 5 years of outside business to business sales experience.
